The following TDP programs are currently offered at the College:
The College offers a range of ensembles and styles for students participating in the artform of Dance including Jazz, Contemporary and JFH (Jazz, Funk and Hip-Hop). Rehearsals take place before and after school and focus on development of technique, performance skills and confidence.
The TDP Drama Ensemble is set within an exciting and encouraging environment. Students participate in weekly rehearsals which involve warm-up games, improvisation skills, acting for stage, acting for screen, self devised work, scripted work, audition techniques and many other drama skills.
Under the TDP program, the College provides extensive opportunities for students wishing to develop their technique, confidence and skills in music performance. ‘Open’ and ‘Audition’ programs aim to meet the needs of all students, no matter their experience.
The College has a long tradition of musical productions. Performed bi-annuanually, the College produces a whole school musical which is open to all students in Years 7-11. Neighbouring colleges such as St Joseph’s Hunters Hill, St Ignatius College Riverview, Holy Cross College Ryde and Marist College Eastwood are also invited to partake in these productions.
Every other year, TDP and elective Performing Arts students self nominate to travel overseas to experience the rich performing arts culture of New York and Los Angeles. In past years students have experienced a range of workshops with Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Broadway Dance Centre, NYC Vocal Studio, The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institution and Disney Live Entertainment. Throughout the trip, students rehearse and perform multidisciplinary work at various locations including the USS Intrepid and Disneyland.
