Religious Education Stage 6

Senior students in Year 11 and 12 will complete a course in Religious Studies in Stage 6: Catholic Studies, Studies of Religion I or Studies of Religion II.

Catholic Studies

This course is an enriching study of the Catholic faith which aims to assist students towards:

  • making sense of everyday life experiences in the broader contexts of mystery, complexity, confusion and awe;
  • gaining access to and understanding the Scriptures, the traditions of the Catholic community, its stories, its experiences and its teachings;
  • celebrating with others the mystery and life of the Risen Christ;
  • responding to the activity of God in their lives and in the whole of creation.

More information can be found on the Sydney Catholic Schools RE On-line site.

Studies of Religion I & II

These courses promote an understanding and critical awareness of the nature and significance of religion and the influence of belief systems and religious traditions on individuals and within society.
